James and I travelled to London on Monday to meet with our chair of trustees. We went to Jesuit HQ in Mayfair to meet with the Jesuit Webmaster. He was more endearing than actively helpful but it was nice to meet him. Found the 1901cenus online. It's fantastic. I've found my great grandma. in 1901 she was 16 and living with her sister Georgina and her widowed mother Mary in 15 Howard Street Wigan. She and Georgina are listed as cotton weavers ( Read more... )

Knitting My wool from the internet is stuck in the ether which means I've not got started on my head start on Ewan's growing. I did, however, make a visit to Didsbury on Saturday where I found a wool shop with all sorts of gorgeous yarns, including a lovely mutli-coloured wool silk mix.
